The Regulators - Richard Bachman, Stephen King

Autistic Seth Garin is possessed by an evil entity named Tak, who grows strong enough to terrorise a suburban street with images from Seth's mind.

A splatter fest from King, as usual...got a little repetitive at the end with exploding eyeballs, to be honest. Also as usual with King, "Resolution demands a sacrifice" and it's not hard to see who that sacrifice is going to be.

What raised it from two stars to three is the poignancy of the epilogue, and the underlying theme that neighbours can pull together during adversity to survive the worst anyone can throw at them.
